Junior League Award - Volunteering at its best!

A key focus of the Junior League is to promote volunteerism in the community.
At this year's 44th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, three of our Child Advocates were recognized for their time, energy, and positive impact in the community. Advocate Ron Fairchild received a Certificate of Appreciation for his work on Middle School education; Kathryn Williams received a Certificate of Appreciation for her service on our Board of Directors.
Karen Scussel received the Crystal Bowl Award and $1,000 to go to Child Advocates for her dedicated years of Advocacy and support of our agency. The Junior League voted Karen an example of Volunteerism at Its Best and we could not agree more! Karen has worked towards the mission of Child Advocates for over 12 years and in that time Advocated for 15 children! She has served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and volunteered in multiple positions culminating in her becoming our full time Executive Director in October 2013. Karen has always personified what Advocates do and the hard work they put in as friends, role models, and beacons of hope. Way to go Karen!
