About our Agency and the Gala

Child Advocates' 2009 gala celebrates its service to abused and neglected children in Silicon Valley. Join us for a special evening of West Coast cool jazz. The South Bay band Octobop will treat the audience to 1950s jazz. The evening of dinner, silent and live auctions and dancing is expected to raise more than $300,000 to support Child Advocates work. The Honorable Shawna Schwarz will be our guest speaker. Come help us celebrate the children of our community!

For over twenty years, volunteer Advocates have given many hours of their time to ensure that children have a stable, nurturing environment in which to grow and thrive. Child Advocate volunteers make a lifelong difference for abused and neglected children by serving as friends, mentors and Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Highlights of the Evening

Popular morning radio host Gary Scott Thomas of 95.3 KRTY will serve as emcee and auctioneer for the evening. The silent auction features over 100 fabulous items, including collectibles, dining & wine, electronics, entertainment, sports, and travel getaways. The entertaining live auction features exotic trips, fine jewelry and elegant evening parties along with other unique items.

Child Advocates' annual gala draws over 400 guests from Silicon Valley and beyond. The audience is a wonderful mix of Advocates, donors, staff, community partners and business leaders.
